Doctor’s [Patch] Notes: Build 1.0.2.3110

On top of the Surgical Showdowns release today, which brings six shiny and new levels to Surgeon Simulator 2, the team have been hard at work addressing the most reported bugs and nuances in the game.

At 4 PM UTC on the 22nd October, we’re going to be releasing build 1.0.2.3110. This build has a whole host of improvements so, strap in! Here’s what the new build entails:

General Improvements:

  • Level data compression, for faster saving and loading times
  • Faster speed for players whilst in ghost mode
  • Better error logging on startup, to help devs with debugging issues
  • Removed lorem ipsum from the news feed if the player has no internet connection
  • Made the Creation Mode invalid party prompt more clear
  • Added profanity filter for custom text sign – we see you!
  • Made levels much less likely to go out of sync between players when creating in multiplayer
  • If a player changes a level’s name whilst other players are in the game, the new level name now updates for all players
  • Updated limits and constraints errors to use the new UI prompt, and localised the errors
  • Now only hiding the return to lobby button if the player hasn’t completed the tutorial levels
  • Showing different text when on level end screen when losing a tutorial level
  • Selection box wasn’t networked (wasn’t seen by other players) when in Texture Mode, now it is
  • Players must now confirm that they want to play the queue every time they make changes to it
  • Updated the invalid validation message
  • General Bob optimisations, to make levels with Bobs in run better
  • Added popup for when taking history snapshot (F6)
  • Tweaks to the way we load assets (should help with load times)

Audio Improvements:

  • General audio and SFX fixes and improvements
  • Item trigger volume collider stability fixes
  • Enabled the item trigger volume to detect the laundry cart prop

Prop Improvements:

  • RGB light prop was added, by popular request!
  • Unhid the Anatomy Detector 02 prop in the catalogue
  • Updated open prop properties prompt

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed the ‘Newest’ level list not always ordering correctly
  • Fixed a crash on startup that happened if the player moved the game window onto another monitor, and unplugged that monitor before next running the game
  • Fixed the disconnect error that appears when the host leaves Creation Mode
  • Fix for missing text in some languages when manual saving
  • Fixed button being too big and other inconsistent button widths on UI shown when losing a Story Mode or tutorial level
  • Fixed the positioning of ‘Unlocked’ text on vactube overlay
  • Fixed the UI animation when saving a level
  • Fixed a hard lock when selecting play from start without having a spawner in the level
  • Fixed invalid party error in the custom queue
  • Fixed the ‘Unlocked’ text that was missing from vactube overlay when unlocking new customisation items, also localised it
  • Fix for missing text in some languages when maxing out the “lights (no shadows)” in a level
  • Fixed the font on friends list dropdown button that caused issues in some languages
  • Fixed typo in the epilepsy warning text
  • Fix for small and large intestines having the same icon on the anatomy detector
  • Fixed localisation on the “recovery save” menu
  • Fixed the ‘My Favourites’ button in the Terminal’s discovery menu
  • Fixed the item trigger volume not always detecting a target item on level start
  • Fixed an issue where opening text chat while the customisation UI was open made the game unresponsive
  • Fixed comparison operator not outputting a value in some situations
  • Fixed text sometimes not displaying when typing in the chatbox
  • Fixed a bug where if a prop is shredded whilst in a trigger volume, the trigger volume will continue to output even though the prop is gone
  • Fixed bug where the Trigger Volume (player) only detected the player’s hand. It now detects any part of the character
  • Fixed overflowing text on feedback menu
  • Fixed an issue where the lights limit number would sometimes shoot up massively when creating
  • Fixes to the validation table
  • Fix for some voice lines playing slightly wrong time in campaign
  • Fixed a bug where players could win a level at the same time as skipping it
  • New circuit mode performance improvements
  • Fixed minor group selection issues with BOB
  • Fixed skin not matching Kamal on mad scientist arm
  • Fixed issue with opening Bob Station prop properties
  • Fixed some terminal UI prompt ordering
  • Fix for not being able to restart the last level in custom queue
  • Fix for the trigger volumes in the lobby showing when entering the vac tubes
  • Fixed a bug where standing inside a trigger volume when switching from create to play mode will make the character enter flight mode
  • Fixed a bug where sound volume was affecting and overriding the dialogue setting
  • Fixed bug where some circuit icons displayed the prop’s name when the icon was not being highlighted
  • Fixed bug where the drop-down menus became disabled in certain circumstances
  • Fix to stop players potentially getting stuck between tutorials
